The 3A draw was postponed in March because of a storm. It had originally been intended to be an 8-team draw but it was whittled down to five when the tournament was held in April. The three teams which had originally qualified but did not participate in the draw were the St. Lawrence Academy Blues; the Happy Valley-Goose Bay Mealy Mountain Collegiate Hawks and the Twillingate J.M.
