In the other quarterfinal, the McKays E.A. Butler All-Grade Eagles edged the St. Bernard’s Fortune Bay Academy Predators 45-37. The Predators (coached by Bill Bungay) included Dana Baker, Emma Dominaux, Brooke McCarthy, Maryanne Hodder, Kaitlyn Sheppard, Skylar Myles, Jenna Baker, Melissa Clarke, Megan Bungay, Olivia Baker, Brianna Clarke, Ashley Stewart, Rebecca Denty, Feleisha Hackett, Stephanie Kearley, Brieanne Hynes and Allison Dominaux.

In the semis, the Lakewood Academy Astras edged the King’s Point Valmont Academy Vikings 38-36.

In the other semi, the Trepassey Stella Maris Mystic whipped the McKays E.A. Butler Eagles 46-26.

In the final, the Trepassey Stella Maris Mystic stomped the Lakewood Academy Astras 65-46. “I think we were intimidated a little bit when the game first started, because we saw the way (Kaitlyn Ryan) plays,” Astras guard Bethany Burge told the Gander Beacon. “However, I thought we got more comfortable as the game went on.” Tonicia Vivian added that “we were a little intimidated, but when we started to get around her, I thought we got a little braver, and worked harder against her.” The Mystic closed down the paint and forced the Astras to the perimeter and quickly led by 17. Still, Astras coach Dean Johnson was proud of the way his girls continued to battle. ‘You should be proud of what you accomplished here…you have nothing to be ashamed of. The fact is we were beaten by a better team today and we have to take our hats off to them.”
