In the semis, the host Mobile Central Monarchs, which had stepped up in class after winning the Triple-A provincial title a year earlier, and had finished (1-1) in round-robin play, upset the St. John’s Bishops Baronettes 60-56.
In the other semi, the St. John’s Holy Heart of Mary Highlanders, who had finished (2-0) in round-robin play, defeated Plum Point St. Augustine’s 68-61.
In the final, Mobile Central nipped the St. John’s Holy Heart of Mary Highlanders 54-53 as Mercedes Luby scored 26 and Kim Power 10. Judy Dobbin led Holy Heart with 22. Ann Marie Tobin added 10.
