        A three-team girl’s high school league operates for the first time. The teams are: Curtis, MacPherson Academy and the Memorial Juniors.

        In the “intercollegiate” girl’s league, the four teams are: Our Lady of Mercy College, Prince of Wales, Spencer Academy and the Memorial Seniors.

1957

        A four-school girl’s high school league operates. It includes Curtis Academy, the Pepperell Falcons (a high school affiliated with a local American Armed Forces Base).

1958

        Memorial defeated teams from Prince of Wales, B.S.C. and C.L.M. to win the “collegiate ladies basketball title”, as opposed to the high school title. The former are considered junior colleges.
