Rice was ahead 28-26 at the half and shot 5/14 from the line. Regina shot 6/12 from the line and was paced by Ed Buckle’s 18 points. Mike O’Reilly added 12, Mike Brennan 8 and Bob Hearn 8.

        The St. John’s Brother Rice Celtics defeated the St. John’s Gonzaga Regional Vikings 69-55 as Peter Short scored 24 and Wayne Short 20. The Celtics were ahead 42-28 at the break. Austin Brophy led Gonzaga with 23. Don Coleman added 13.

        The St. John’s Brother Rice Celtics completed their undefeated schedule at (3-0) with an 87-40 pounding of Springdale Grant Collegiate as Peter Short scored 33 and Wayne Short 28. Wayne Randell led Grant with 20 points. Brother Rice was ahead 38-23 at the half.

        The Corner Brook Regina Knights finished second with a (2-1) record.

The Corner Brook Regina Knights defeated Springdale Grant 74-25 as Mike Brennan scored 19, Ed Buckle 17 and Bern Joyce 13. Eugene Wells and Ed Earle responded with 6 apiece for Grant. Wayne Randell added 5.

The Corner Brook Regina Knights defeated the St. John’s Gonzaga Vikings 54-40 as Mike O’Reilly scored 20 and Bern Joyce 14 for Regina. The teams were tied at 23 at the half. Austin Brophy led Gonzaga with 18. Moe Clarke added 10.

The St. John’s Gonzaga Vikings captured third place with a 53-50 win over Springdale Grant as Austin Brophy scored 19, Don Coleman 15 and John Coyle 9. Wayne Randell paced Grant with 20. Eugene Wells added 10.
