In the quarterfinals, held in Baie Verte, the Corner Brook Regina Knights slapped Gloverton United Church High 72-28.

Grand Falls St. Michael’s whipped the Trepassey Stella Maris Mystics 53-6.

Baie Verte St. Pius X crushed the Avondale Roncalli Cardinals 73-47. The Cardinals included Wayne Doyle.

In the last quarterfinal, the St. John’s Brother Rice Celtics torched Clarenville Horwood 73-12.

In the semis, the Corner Brook Regina Knights smacked Grand Falls St. Michael’s 72-20. St. Michael’s included Bill Stapleton.

In the other semi, Baie Verte St. Pius X knocked off the perennial favorite St. John’s Brother Rice Celtics 55-50.

In the final, tournament MVP Reg Barker scored 21, Bren Gallant 12 and Ed Buckle 10 to lead the Corner Brook Regina Knights to a 59-39 whipping of Baie Verte St. Pius X. The Knights led 23-12 at the half and 40-20 at the three-quarter mark. Bill Shelley and Bill Butler paced St. Pius with 13 points apiece.

Joining Barker on the all-tournament team were Bern Joyce (Corner Brook Regina); Bren Gallant (Corner Brook Regina); Bob Bowers (St. Pius X); and Bill Stapleton (St. Michael’s).
