In the quarterfinals, the St. John’s Holy Cross Crusaders defeated the Baie Verte Ravens 85-18 as Mike Gallivan scored 18. Pat Shelly led the Ravens with 8. The Ravens also included Al Downey.

The St. John’s Brother Rice Celtics nipped the Corner Brook Regina Knights 50-48 as Stanford scored 21. Chris Baker led the Knights with 16. The Knights also included Jerome Davis, Montie Pike, Charlie Barker, Mike Hurley.

The St. John’s Bishops Barons thrashed Grand Falls St. Michael’s 56-34. St. Michael’s included John Burke, Jim Burke.

In the last quarterfinal, the Argentia Bristol Bulldogs whipped Carbonear 41-25. Carbonear included Cal Horwood.

In the semis, the St. John’s Holy Cross Crusaders defeated the St. John’s Bishops Barons 76-43 as Mike Gallivan scored 19. Jim Gay led the Barons with 22.

In the other semi, the St. John’s Brother Rice Celtics edged the Argentia Bristol 31-30 (also reported as 31-29) as Pat Sulley scored 12. Leroy Rivers led the Bulldogs with 11.

In the final, the St. John’s Holy Crusaders defeated the St. John’s Brother Rice Celtics 46-41 as Kevin Short scored 14, Mike Gallivan 10, Wayne Holden 9 and Brian Kavanagh 9. The Crusaders led 17-12 after one quarter and 30-20 at the half. The Celtics were led by John Joy’s 20 points. Gary Churchill added 14. The leading scorer of the tournament was Corner Brook Regina’s Charlie Barker with 69 points in three games.
