In the St. John’s high school league, United College captured the crown on the final night of the season by edging the St. John’s Holy Cross Crusaders 27-25 in overtime on a pair of free throws by Bob Howell. Dave Russell paced United College with 12. Dan Youden added 5, Bob Howell 4, Eric Morland 4 and Charlie Pollock 2. Roger Maunder led Holy Cross with 6.
