In the Northeast sectionals and provincial quarterfinals, the host Moncton Purple Knights edged the St. Malachy’s Memorial Saints 63-58. The Saints included Lauren Harris, Ellie Collins.
The Fredericton Leo Hayes Lions dusted the Riverview Royals 78-55. The Royals included Keira Rafferty, Dylann Fawcett.
In the Southwest sectionals, the Quispamsis Kennebecasis Valley Crusaders clubbed the Moncton Bernice MacNaughton Highlanders 88-56. The Highlanders included Chloe Buckingham, Emma Ward, Reese Mann, Maddie Maillet, Ella McNally.
In the last quarterfinal, the sectional host Fredericton Black Kats torched the Moncton Harrison Trimble Trojans 98-37.
In the provincial semis, the Fredericton Leo Hayes lions dusted the Moncton Purple Knights 88-72 as Speedy scored 31, Penney 12 and Hughes 10. Wood led the Purple Knights with 18. Sterkel added 15.
In the other semi, the Fredericton Black Kats clipped the Quispamsis Kennebecasis Valley Crusaders 84-61 as McCarthy scored 18, Colpitts 16, Janes 12 and Beuamont 12. Sullivan led the Crusaders with 17. Ramsay added 14.
In the final, the Fredericton Black Kats pummeled the Fredericton Leo Hayes Lions 82-43 after leading 16-14, 39-22 and 63-34 at the quarters. Maddy Colpitts paced the Black Kats with 21 on 8-18 from the floor, 1-3 from the arc, 4-6 from the line and 7 boards. Torrie Janes added 17 on 7-12 from the floor, 0-1 from the arc and 0-2 from the line. Allie McCarthy notched 15 on 6-16 from the floor, 1-3 from the arc, 2-2 from the line and 16 boards.
