In the regional semis and provincial quarterfinals held in Fredericton regional, the host and top-seeded Fredericton Black Kats dusted the 8th-seeded Moncton Harrison Trimble Trojans 93-35 as Norman scored 24. Kelly Conners led the Trojans with 13. The Trojans also included Angie Boutilier, Shelly Whitehead, Leanne Pierce, Julie Duff, Esther Gordon, Darlene Beers, Alison Straight, Barb Sobey, Laura Wilbur.
In the other semi, the 4th-seeded Saint John Greyhounds clipped the 5th-seeded Riverview Royals 70-57 as Hooley scored 21. Jennifer Dugan led the Royals with 20. The Royals also included Kim Hill, Andrea Malone, Ang Horseman, Allison Crossman, Jennifer Strang, Carrie Alderson, Kerry MacCallum.
In the regional final and provincial semis, the top-seeded Fredericton Black Kats clubbed the 4th-seeded Saint John Greyhounds 88-56 as Norman scored 22, Clark 14, Rainville 14, Swift 11, MacFadyen 9, Robertson 8, Eagle 8 and Scholten 2. Hooley led the Greyhounds with 20. Savoie added 10, McIntyre 9, Brownell 6, Shelly Harris 4, Stanley 3, Sherry Harris 2, Ring 1 and Booker 1.
In the regional semis and provincial quarterfinals held in Chatham, the 2nd-seeded host Miramichi James M. Hill Tommies dispatched the 7th-seeded Miramichi Valley Pulamoo x-x. The Pulamoo included Karri-Lynn Stewart, Carla Mason, Kathy Wasson, Stacey Stewart, Jennifer Wheaton, Tanya Innes, Anne O’Neil, Tammy Kinney, Jennifer Matheson, Rhonda Butler.
In the other semi and last quarterfinal, the 3rd-seeded Quispamsis Kennebecasis Valley Crusaders defeated the 6th-seeded Moncton Purple Knights x-x. The Purple Knights included Angela Minno (Nimmo?), Jen Mitton, Debbie Davis, Beatrice Yuste, Suzanne White, Cherri Field, S Field, Michelle Chitty, Brittany Gallant.
In the regional final and provincial semi, the Quispamsis Kennebecasis Valley Crusaders edged the Miramichi James M. Hill Tommies 57-55 as Jackson scored 15, Millican 20, Shipley 10, Kierstead 10, Chappell 8, Gregg 2 and Ruddock 2. Carolyn Lorden led the Tommies with 12. Hardy added 11, Whalen 9, McDermott 9, Ross 8 and T Lorden 6.
In the final, the Fredericton Black Kats defeated the Quispamsis Kennebecasis Valley Crusaders 55-52 as Norman scored 23, MacFadyen 17, Clark 5, Rainville 4, Scholten 2, Swift 2 and Robertson 2. With 8:40 to play, MacFadyen banked a trey to give the Black Kats a 43-39 lead. Norman told the Saint John Telgraph-Journal that the trey “was a real turning point for us. From then on, it was full speed ahead. In the middle of the game, we really lost our offence but we regained it. It feels great, not so much for me but the seniors and Mr. O’Rourke. It was his first year as coach and maybe he’ll come back.” O’Rourke told the Fredericton Daily Gleaner that Norman is “a great player.” Shipley led the Crusaders with 14. Chappell added 10, Jackson 10, Millican 9. Kierstead 4, Gregg 2, Robertson 2 and Fairweather 1.
