In the quarterfinals, held in Woodstock, the Moncton Purple Knights nipped the St. Stephen Spartans 28-26 as Clowater hit the winner with 15 seconds to play on a putback off a missed free throw by Buzzell. Clowater led the Purple nights with 11. Buzzell added 7, Allen 7, Humes 2 and Crawford 1.

       The Woodstock Wildcats spanked Newcastle Harkins 29-12 as Olmstead scored 14, Mason 6, Karnes 4, Stewart 3 and Craig 2. Debbie Walker led Newcastle with 6. G (J?) Black added 4, L Black 1 and Judy Matchett 2, while N Russell, C Russell, Crocker, Joyce (Jeanne?) matchett, Kingston, Clements, Henderson, Bowes and Fenlon were scoreless.

       The Saint John St. Vincent’s Fighting Irish defeated the Edmundston Cormier Cougars 32-26 as Doucet scored 19, Sproule 8 and Robertson 5. Patty Groves led the Cougars with 15. P Dickinson added 6 and Bunty McCabe 5, while D Dickinson, Cloutier, Glencross, Susan Tweedie, Paget, Forbes, Rice, St. Pierre, McLeod and Chalifour were scoreless.

       In the last quarterfinal, the Moncton Harrison Trimble Trojans edged the Fredericton Black Kats 32-31 as Mitchell scored 22, Lebans 9 and McEachern 1. Pat Johnston led the Black kats with 23. Mary Sedgewick added 4, Corcoran 2 and Arsenault (Arseneau?) 2, while Chalmers, Hencheffer, McKay, Cheevers, Clark, Worth, Jardine and Gibson were scoreless.

       In the semis, the Woodstock Wildcats defeated the Moncton Purple Knights 41-40 as Olmstead scored 24, Craig 11 and Karnes 6. Allen led the Purple Knights with 13. Buzzell added 10, Clowater 6, Crawford 5, Wallace 4 and Humes 2.

       In the other semi, the Saint John St. Vincent’s Fighting Irish dispatched the Moncton Harrison Trimble Trojans 35-31 as Doucet scored 20, Robertson 9 and Sproule 6. Mitchell led the Trojans with 20. Whalen added 9 and LeBlanc 2.

       In the bronze medal match, the Moncton Purple Knights dispatched the Moncton Harrison Trimble Trojans 45-32 as Buzzell scored 24, Humes 10, Clowater 4, Allen 3 and Wallace 2. Dale Mitchell paced the Trojans with 15. Ann Whalen added 9, Terry Lebans 4, Ruth McEachern 2 and Carol Montieth 2, while R Thornton, Carol Humes, Judy Palmer, Barb MacDonald, Frances McCarthy, Lis Townes, P Thornton and Gail Hoar were scoreless.

In the final, Saint John St. Vincent’s wins its first title by clubbing the Woodstock Wildcats 50-17 as Doucet scored 23, Robertson 18, Sproule 7 and Cole 2. Olmstead led the Wildcats with 8. Stewart added 4, Karnes 2, Nason 2 and Craig 1.

       After the season, the NBIAA announces that the girl’s  would shift to men’s (five-man) from girl’s (six-man) rules.
