In the quarterfinals, held in St. Stephen, the host Spartans stomped the Plaster Rock Tobique Valley Pantehrs 74-23 as McWilliams scored 24, Barr 16, Lindsay Lowe 16, Pomery 12, Mitchell 5 and Stafford 1. Joanne Geldart led the Panthers with 14. Crawford added 7 and Carvell 2, while Robertosn, D Reed, J Reed, Everett, Fraser, Porter, Briggs, Anderson and Duffy were scoreless.

       The Fredericton Black Kats clocked the Bathurst Phantoms 42-27 as Crawford scored 19, Finnamore 14, Reid 5 and McElman 4. Mary Stratton led the Phantoms with 21. G Frenette added 4 and Bond 2, while M Frenette, Watling, Loosen, Branch, Rogers, MacKnight, Mackay and Spears were scoreless.

       The Saint John Greyhounds clubbed the Woodstock Wildcats 45-15 as Flewelling scored 22 and Ring 20. The Wildcats included Susan Andow, Elaine Flewwelling, Barbara Harris, Susan Paterson, Theresa Drapeau, Cathy Karres, Anne Truman and Leslie Wilson.

       In the last quarterfinal, the Moncton Harrison Trimble Trojans torched the Rothesay Netherwood School for Girls River Hawks 48-18 as Sylvia Smith scored 15. Sheila (Shirley?) McKay led the River Hawks with 11. The River Hawks also included Napier, Kinner, Hoppe, Snodgrass, Turnbull, Eakin, Murphy and Broad.

In the semis, the St. Stephen Spartans defeated the Fredericton Black Kats 56-21 as Barr scored 18, McWilliams and Pomeroy 13. Crawford led the Black Kats with 12.

In the other semi, the Saint John Trojans dusted the Moncton Harrison Trimble Trojans 52-31 as Ring scored 30 and Flewelling 20.

In the bronze medal match, the Moncton Harrison Trimble Trojans clipped the Fredericton Black Kats 33-25 as Ward scored 10, Sylvia Smith 10, Sharon Smith 6 and MacEachern 4, while three points were unallocated. Joan Crawford led the Black Kats with 12. Ruth Finnamore added 8, Reid 3 and Orser 2, while Wilkins, Dickinson, Thorpe, Perley, McLenaghan, nash, Gulliver and Anne McElman were scoreless.

       In the final, the St. Stephen Spartans whipped the St. John Greyhounds 64-47 as Barr scored 29, McWilliams 15, L Lowe 01, Mitchell 8 and Pomeroy 2. Ring led the Greyhounds with 26. Flewelling added 17 and Leddon 4. It marked the first time since 1946 that a school had accomplished a boys/girls double. The final was played before 500 rabid Saint John fans.
