In the quarterfinals, held in Andover, the Saint John Simonds Seabees defeated the Plaster Rock Tobique Valley Panthers 39-33 as Watson scored 21, Ough 10, Alexander 5 and Fawcett 2. Sheila Wright scored 22 to lead the Panthers (coach Betty McAloon; manager Carol Hatheway). Diane Brown added 8 and Cheryl Robertson 3, while Sharon Robertson, Charlotte Reed, Alma Reed, Darlene Sisson, Jo-Anne Geldart, Nancy Everett, Mona Crawford and Camilla Neilson were scoreless.
The Perth-Andover Southern Victoria Vikettes dispatched the Moncton Purple Knights 56-42 as Morrell scored 33, Clark 17 and Sullivan 6. Fenwick paced the Purple Knights with 16. McIntyre added 15, Taylor 5, Wilbur 3 and MacEacher 3, while Smith, Prosser, Geldart, LeBlanc, Golding and Scott were scoreless.
The Saint John Greyhounds whipped Newcastle Harkins 46-25.
In the last quarterfinals, the St. Stephen Spartans clocked the Chipman Forest Crusaders 59-22.
In the semis, the Perth-Andover Southern Victoria Vikettes edged the Saint John Simonds Seabees 42-41 on a free throw by Ruth Morrell with 4 seconds to play. Morrell led the Vikettes with 18. Clark added 17 and J Grant 7.
In the other semi, the St. Stephen Spartans clipped the Saint John Greyhounds 39-29 as Barr scored 12, Corby 10, J Pomeroy 9 and Dinsmore 8. Tait led the Greyhounds with 14. Flewelling added 8, Melvin 5 and Gould 2.
In the bronze medal match, the Saint John Simonds Seabees dispatched the Saint John Greyhounds 32-26. The Greyhounds included Melvin, Heather Tait, Flewelling, Golding, McAlpine, Jeans, North, Gould and English.
In the final, the St. Stephen Spartans dumped the host Perth-Andover Southern Victoria Vikettes 47-40 as Dinsmore scored 17, Corby 13, J Pomeroy 12 and Barr 5. Morrell led the Vikettes with 21. Clark added 14, J Grant 2 and Smith 2.
