In the opening round of a 9-team tournament held in St. John, the Fredericton Black Kats edged Saint John Vocational Vultures 21-20. Vocational (coach Margaret Henderson) included Mclean, McLaughlin, Ingraham, McLeod, Mitchell Stone, Baird, Sprague, Merithew and Perry.
In the quarterfinals, the Woodstock Thunder edged the Fredericton Black Kats 32-30. The Black Kats included Gwen Horsnelle, W Schofield, Hawkes, Van Wart, E Wylie, Bearisto, P Horsnell, Dorian, F Rowley and M Brown.
The St. Stephen Spartans dispatched the Saint John Greyhounds 28-20. The Greyhounds included Morgan, Diamond, Stephenson, Gow, Wilson, Izzard, Church, Hay, Evans, Barter, Calp and Todd.
The Sussex Sonics pounded the McAdam Warriors 25-10.
In the last quarterfinal, the Moncton Purple Knights nipped Saint John St. Vincent’s 21-19.
In the semis, the St. Stephen Spartans clipped the Sussex Sonics 17-10.
In the other semi, the Woodstock Thunder clubbed the Moncton Purple Knights 22-11.
In the final, the St. Stephen Spartans defeated the Woodstock Thunder 26-8.
