In the semis, the Fredericton Black Kats defeated the Moncton Purple Knights 75-62 as Oliver Glencross scored 21 and Darren Lohnes 15. Moncton led 33-31 at the half. Clint Bateman led the Purple Knights with 32.

In the other semi, the Riverview Royals defeated the Saint John Simonds Seabees 80-70 as Jared Budd scored 28, Matt Quiring 17 and Ed Wareham 15. Brad McLean paced the Seabees with 21 points. Mike Thomas added 16.

In the final, the Fredericton Black Kats defeated the Riverview Royals 73-54. Riverview led 30-24 at the half but the Black Kats rallied with a 51-point outburst in the second half. “It was like we were scared of their defence in the first half,” Black Kats forward Oliver Glencross told the New Brunswick Telegraph-Journal. “We knew if we didn’t come out and play with guts, we’d lose.” Fredericton opened the second half with a 14-4 run. “We knew we had to come out and focus on our defence,” said senior Darren Lohnes. “They had outhustled us in the first half.” Glencross led the Black Kats with 17 points. Darren Lohnes added 15, Craig Steeves 12 and Adam Heissner 12. But Lohnes, Steeves and Heissner only had a bucket apiece in the first 20 minutes. Riverview senior Josh Prescott said “this is one that got away. At halftime, we weren’t that comfortable (with a six-point lead) but we were comfortable with how we were playing.” Jared Budd led the Royals with 16 points while Dan Budd netted 12 and Craig Morton added 10. The Royals appeared intimidated by 6-8 Adam Parent in the second half. Parent only scored eight points but he made several huge blocks and held Riverview centre Matt Quiring to four points. “We missed a couple of shots and they started to make a run,” said Prescott. “They shot the ball incredibly well and hats off to them. They had a great game.” Fredericton finished with a 41-3 record and many of the players were inspired by the presence of senior Ryan Watson, who broke both his legs in a car accident in October. Watson was a key factor in the 2001 title and was on the court with crutches when his teammates lifted the championship trophy aloft. “Having him here made us play a lot better,” said Glencross.
