In the final, the Riverview Royals clipped the Moncton Harrison Trimble Trojans 75-60 as Fraser scored 22, Tingley 17, Low 14 and McIntosh 14. Low told the Saint John Telegraph-Journal that “Riverview has been known for coming out slow in the first five minutes. It’s been a myth that we wanted to dispel for a long time. We came out this time and we put them away.” Fraser told the Fredericton Daily Gleaner that “I think we were probably the best prepared team and that paid off at the end.” Riverview coach Dave Wheaton told the Telegraph-Journal that “two weeks ago, they (Trimble) beat us because we did not come out to play defensively. Riverview High School has always been a team known for hanging back with a 20-point lead, like they’re assured of a win … I was praying for it (a Fraser performance). He used to be a player who shot when it wasn’t called for. But he’s learned to play with the rest of the team.” Ryan led the Trojans with 24, while point guard Chris Forsythe was sidelined at the end of the first half with a back injury. Trojans coach Brian Forsythe said “we had to have him come back. He’s our general. I think the other guys tend to play better when he’s in there … They flat out outhustled us. I can’t explain it. We thought we were ready. But I guess they caught us on our heels early and we never recovered.”
