In the quarterfinals, held at the University New Brunswick’s Lady Beaverbrook Gymnasium in Fredericton, the 4th-seeded Saint John Saint Malachy’s Saints dispatched the 5th-seeded Moncton Harrison Trimble Trojans 52-21 as Breien scored 17, Cherry 10, Pitts 8, Doiron 5, McGinnis 4, Aucoin 4, Stephen 2 and Higgins 2. Rod McKenzie led the Trojans with 8. Keith Steeves added 7, George Stone 2, Owen Daley 2 and Bob Price 2, while Bruce Jamieson, Terry Richard, Emery Rodgers, Cliff Steeves and Bruce Reichert were scoreless.

       The top-seeded St. Stephen Spartans clocked the 8th-seeded Bathurst Phantoms 56-22 as Ingram scored 17, Mcleod 15, Hansen 7, Murphy 7, McShane 5, Haley 2, Horne 2 and Conley 1. Leonard Brewer paced the Phantoms with 7. Paul Patterson added 6, Don McLaggan 5, Boyd Jagoe 2 and Dave Ross 2, while Dirk Kly, Steve Kelly, Gerald Noel, Richard Dobson, Chris Lovegrove and Don Sergeant were scoreless.

       The 2nd-seeded Fredericton Black Kats stomped 7th-seeded Moncton Vanier 74-24 as McGratton scored 39, Amos 10, Gill 5, Sharpe 5, Johnson 4, Levesque 4, Young 4, Springer 3 and MacCormack 2. Denis Boudreau paced Vanier with 8. Larry Bordage added 6, Ed Landry 5, Jean Paul Gauthier 4 and Brian Bourgeois 1, while John Cormier, Jim Green, Paul Hachey, Gary Richard and Claude Dupuis were scoreless.

       In the last quarterfinal, the 3rd-seeded Moncton Purple Knights dusted the 6th-seeded Rothesay Regional Red Hawks   60-43 as B Bohan scored 17, J Heffernan 13, Lebans 12, Burgess 10, Doucet 4, Teed 2 and M Bohan 2. Dave Stephen led the Red Hawks with 16. Don Britten added 13, Charlie Chapman 8, Bruce Harding 2, John Fleiger 2 and Peter Ross 2, while Glen Gahan, Gerry Connolly, Steve Kelly, Paul Martin, Leigh Messer, Tom Wilson and Mike Kearney were scoreless.

In the semis, the top-seeded St. Stephen Spartans defeated the 4th-seeded Saint John St. Malachy’s Memorial Saints 43-41 on a putback by Imgram with seconds to play. Murphy led the Spartans with 15. Ingram added 14, McLeod 9, Conley 3 and Seaman 2. Brien led the Saints with 14. Doiron added 8, Stephen 7, McGinnis 7, Cherry 3 and Pitts 2.

       In the other semi, the 2nd-seeded Fredericton Black Kats defeated the 3rd-seeded Moncton Purple Knights 53-46 as McGrattan scored 25, Young 8, Gill 8, Amos 7 and McCormack 5. Lebans led the Purple Knights with 18. Keith added 11, Burgess 8, Bohan 4, Doucet 4 and Je Heffernan 1.

       In the bronze medal match, the 4th-seeded Saint John St. Malachy’s Memorial Saints defeated the 3rd-seeded Moncton Purple Knights 43-36 as Brien scored 14, Pitts 12, Cherry 8, Doiron 5 and McGinnis 4. John Lebans led the Purple Knights with 22. Gary Teed added 8, Brian Bohan 2, Peter Burgess 2 and Ken Heffernan 2, while Jim Heffernan, Brian Doucet, Mark Bohan, Mike Cahill, Tim (Ken?) Killam and Daley Fugere were scoreless.

       In the final, the top-seeded St. Stephen Spartans completed the boys/girls double as they defeated the wnd-seeded Fredericton Black Kats 53-40 as Dave Seaman scored 14 and Duane Ingraham 11. John McGratten led Fredericton with 21. St. Stephen won its fourth title in nine years while finishing (27-3) on the season.
