In the quarterfinals, held in Fredericton, the 4th-seeded Woodstock Thunder dispatched the 5th-seeded Rothesay Red Hawks 58-52 as Craig scored 24, Durling 16, Ross 9 and Boyd 9. Chris Pitt led the Red Hawks with 18. Bob Brewster added 14, Don Britten 9, Eric Britten 5, Jim Gillispie 5 and Charlie Chapman 1, while Richard Brown, Peter Cameron, Stephen Kelly, David Stephen, Peter Ross, Ron Moore, Bruce Harding, John Fleiger and Randy McConnell were scoreless.

       The top-seeded Fredericton Black Kats mauled the 8th-seeded Edmundston Cormier Cougars 87-36 as Harten scored 26, McGrattan 15, Somerville 10, Johnston 8, Cassidy 6, Gill 5, Arbeau 4, Boles 4, Young 3, Reid 2, Amos 2 and Springer 2. Glen Larlee led Cougars with 17. Jerry Kessels added 8, Ross Craig 4, Raymond Violette 4 and Bill Lynch 3, while Gilles Rossignol, Ted Tweedy, Gean Theriault, Rene Proteau and Lewis St. Ange were scoreless.

       The 2nd-seeded Saint John St. Malachy’s Memorial Saints blasted the 8th-seeded Moncton Harrison Trimble Trojans 71-20 as Brien scored 12, Cherry 10, MacNeill 9, Morris 9, Vautour 8, Conway 7, McGinnis 6, Doiron 4, Pitts 4 and Stephen 2. George Stone led the Trojans with 4. Owen Daley added 4, Bob Price 4, Emery Rogers 4, Tim Sullivan 3 and Roger Wheeler 1, while Rod MacKenzie, Terry Stewart, Cliff Steeves and Bruce Jamieson were scoreless.

       In the last quarterfinal the 3rd-seeded Moncton Purple Knights dusted the 6th-seeded St. Stephen Spartans 53-33 as Doucet scored 14, Teed 14, J Heffernan 12, Bohan 5, McLaren 3, Cassidy 2, Lebans 2 and Burgess 1. Duane Ingram paced the Spartans with 12. Ted Corby added 8, Steve Outlet 4, Greg McIntee 4, Larry Haley 3 and Dave Seman 2, while Tony Murphy, Bruce Buchanan, Gary McShane, Bob Conley, Paul Smith, Phil Cleghorn, Dave Mcleod and Jim Irving were scoreless.

       In the semis, the top-seeded Fredericton Black Kats clubbed the 3rd-seeded Moncton Purple Knights 76-55 as Harten scored 15, Cassidy 14, McGrattan 13, Sommerville 10, Young 9, Arbeau 4, Reid 4, Johnson 3, Amos 2 and Gill 2. Doucet led Purple Knights with 16. Lebans added 9, Cassidy 5, Teed 5, Bohan 4, McLaren 3, Cahill 2, K Heffernan 2 and Burgess 1.

       In the other semi, the 4th-seeded Woodstock Thunder clipped the 2nd-seeded Saint John St. Malachy’s Memorial Saints 68-54 as Craig scored 26, Ross 15, Boyd 11, Durling 9, McLean 3, Stewart 3 and Donovan 1. Morris led the Saints with 14. McNeil added 11, Conway 8, Vautour 6, Stephens 5, Bryant 4, Cherry 4 and Pitts 2.     

       In the bronze medal match, the 2nd-seeded Saint John St. Malachy’s Memorial Saints torched the Moncton Purple Knights as Brien scored 19, Conway 14, McNeil 13, Morris 3, Stephen 2 and Pitts 1. Bob Cowan led the Purple Knights with 7. Les McLaren added 6, Peter Burgess 5, Brian Bohan 4, Gary Teed 4, Dennis Cassidy 3, Ken Heffernan 2, Jim Heffernan 1, and Brian Doucet 1, while John Lebans and Mike Cahill were scoreless.

In the final, the top-seeded Fredericton Black Kats defeated the 4th-seeded Woodstock Thunder 54-46 as Tom McGrattan scored 21, while nabbing 11 boards, Cassidy 14, Harten 9, Arbeau 5, Somerville 4 and Amos 1. Boyd led the Thudner with 24. Craig added 10, Durling 6, Brown 4 and McLean 2. The Black Kats hit 16-24 from the line, while nabbing 38 boards. The Thunder hit 8-13 from the line, while nabbing 34 boards.
