In the quarterfinals, held in Fredericton, the Fredericton Black Kats stomped the Saint John Simonds Seabees 62-42 as Lakes scored 23, Budovitch 13, Allen 9, Watters 6, Strange 4, Reid 3, Turnbull 2 and Tingley 2. Paul Taylor scored 20 to lead the Seabees (coach Art Pottle). Art MacKay added 10, Jim McLaughlin 6, Clifford Skinner 5 and Morrison (Morricon?) 1, while Hodgson, Delcloo, Roger Ferris, Fynn and McDougall were scoreless.

       The Woodstock Thunder clipped the Minto Memorial Tigers 48-36 as J Jones scored 14, Lockwood 12, G Jones 6, McKinley 6, Lunn 5 and Richard 4. Jack Mowat led the Tigers with 14. Chase added 7, Richard 7, Britten 4 and Hickey 4, while Calabrese, Johnson and Arseneau were scoreless.

       The Moncton Purple Knights dispatched the Edmundston Cormier Cougars 50-44 as Kervin scored 14, Buck 9, Fudge 9, Storey 7, Trenholm 4, Sears 2 and Betts 2. D MacFarlane led the Cougars with 19. Baird added 10, Bridgeau 9, Forbes 4 and Morton 2, while A MacFarlane, Sampson, Dickinson and Roussell were scoreless.

       In the last quarterfinal, the St. John St. Malachy’s Memorial Saints nipped the Bathurst Phantoms 44-42 as Wallace scored 18, King 16, Lacey 5 and Barry 5. Robert Dingle scored 17 to pace the Phantoms (coach Lorne Whalen, manager Brant Taylor). Bruce Jamieson added 13, Keith Wornell 6, Eldon McLean 4 and Norman Branch 2, while Ron Cole, Sam Shirley, Bruce Fleiger and Donald Branch were scoreless.

       In the semis, the Saint John St. Malachy’s Memorial Saints clipped the Moncton Purple Knights 57-44 as Wallace scored 20, Brideau 10, Lacey 9, King 8, Barry 8 and Finley 2. Kervin led the Purple Knights with 13. Crowherst added 9, Betts 9, Fudge 5, Buck 4, Trenholm 2 and Storey 2.

       In the other semi, the Woodstock Thunder defeated the Fredericton Black kats 41-35 as Lynn scored 10, J Jones 9, Lockwood 4, McKinley 4 and G Jones 4. Lakes led the Black Kats with 11. Tingley added 6, Turnbull 5, Watters 4, Dale 4, Budovitch 4 and Strange 1.

       In the bronze medal match, the Moncton Purple Knights clipped the Fredericton Black Kats 53-40 as Buck scored 14, Betts 8, Storey 7, Crowherst 6, Fudge 5, Kevin 4 and Trenholm 3. Erik Lakes led the Black Kats with 23. Mitch Budovitch added 8, Dale Allen 5 and Turnbull 4, while Buck, Kilburn, Reid, Tingley and Strange were scoreless. The Black Kats also included Danny Watters.

In the final, the Saint John St. Malachy’s Saints clocked the Woodstock Thunder 56-33 as King scored 19, Wallace 11, Barry 10, Lacey 7, MacKinley 4, Finlay 3, Davis 2 and Brideau 1. J Jones led the Thunder with 11. G Jones added 6, Lunn 5, Lockwood 3, Gorman 2, McKinley 2 and Richard 1.
