In the quarterfinals, held in Fredericton, the Saint John Greyhounds dispatched the Moncton Purple Knights 58-44 as Gould scored 22, Rockwell 20, Wittrien 10, Jones 2, Caulfield 2 and McKinney 2. Melvin Brine led the Purple Knights with 28. Doug Buck added 9, Edward Fudge 3, Fred Ritchie 2 and William Steeves 2, while Ralph MacKay, Doug LeBlanc, Paul Glynn, Arthur Brace and Paul Kervin were scoreless.

       The Fredericton Black Kats torched the Edmundston Cormier Cougars 81-39 as Fairweather scored 43, Morgan 12, Campbell 10, Petrie 8, Mackenzie 6 and Brown 2. Martin Bolfine paced the Cougars with 22. Everett Harding added 9, Cyr Daigle 5, Tom Briddeo 2 and Robert Fyfe 1, while Pat Michaud, Claude Lang, Gerald Pelletier and Tom Hieliny were scoreless.

       The St. Stephen Spartans clocked the Sussex Sonics 64-19 as Glass scored 17, Manuel 10, Pierce 9, Kelly 6, Nicholson 6, Hall 4, McKnight 4, Dionne 4, Mitchell 2 and Yardley 2. Tom Hanley led the Sonics with 8. Glendon Steeves added 6, Doug McKenna 3 and Wayne Reeder 2, while Allen Steeves, Carl Buchanan, Walter Prince and Doug Stewart were scoreless.

       In the last quarterfinal, the Saint John Simonds Seabees whipped Bathurst Sacred Heart 63-37 as Oliver scored 17, O’Blenis 10, Messer 8, MacKay 8, Maber 6, Skinner 5, Lawrence 2 and Fortune 2. Joseph Melanson paced Sacred Heart with 19. Paul Chiasson added 10, Arthur Benoit 4, Eldon Mclean 3 and Peter Kane 1, while Ray Comeau, Terence Mersereau and Ron Thibodeau were scoreless.

       In the semis, the Fredericton Black Kats spanked the Saint John Greyhounds 67-43 as Fairweather scored 25, Morgan 18, Petrie 12, Campbell 10 and Adams 2. Gould led the Greyhounds with 20. Rockwell added 11, Peters 6, McKinney 2 and Murray 2.

       In the other semi, the St. Stephen Spartans defeated the Saint John Simonds Seabees 40-35 as Manuel scored 12, Glass 10, Pierce 8, Mitchell 8 and Kelly 2. Oliver led the Seabees with 9. O’Blenis added 6, Lawrence 4, Messer 3, Flemming 3, Beers 3, Taylor 2, Howe 2 and Fortune 1.

       In the bronze medal match, the Saint John Greyhounds clubbed the Saint John Simonds Seabees 51-35 as Gould scored 23, Rockwell 14, Peters 10, McKinney 2 and Murray 2. George Oliver led the Seabees with 8. Roger Lawrence added 6, Paul Taylor 6, Jim Fortune 5, Earle Beers 3, Phil Flemming 3, Bob Howes 2 and George O’Blenis 2, while Cliff Skinner, Bill Maber and Art McKay were scoreless. Gord Messer did not play because of a leg injury.

In the final, the Fredericton Black Kats defeated the St. Stephen Spartans 68-28 as Morgan scored 20, Petrie 15, Mackenzie 8 and Adams 2. Mitchell led the Spartans with 9. Glass 7, Manuel 5, Pierce 3 and Kelly 2.
