In the quarterfinals, held in Fredericton, the Edmundston Cormier Cougars dispatched the Saint John Simonds Seabees 48-42 as Therriault scored 21, Emond 14, Violette 4, Rossignol 4, Tobin 3 and McFarlane 2. Bud Campbell led the Seabees with 14, Thomas added 7, Bob Fulton 6, Messer 6, R Brown 3, Smith 3, McKinley 2 and Daigle 1, while B Brown was scoreless.
The Fredericton Black Kats spanked the Rothesay Red Hawks 46-32 as Gorman scored 21, Manzer 7, George 6, Ward 4, Wightman 4, Campbell 2 and Bamford 2. Derek Black led the Red Hawks with 13. Larry Black added 10, Hollies 3, Hubbard 2, McCordick 1 and Golding 1, while Snell Reid, Nickerson and Hart were scoreless.
The Saint John Greyhounds clipped the Campbellton Tigers 56-46 as Stackhouse scored 21, Dixon 15, Porter 8, Katruk 7, Shaw 3 and Ross 2. Grant Butler led the Tigers with 19. Frank Bulmer added 18, Richard Diotte 5, Woodworth 2 and Wetmore 2, while Gorham, Irvine, Cooper and Poirier were scoreless.
In the last quarterfinal, the Moncton Purple Knights edged Chatham St. Thomas Academy 50-48 as Cadman scored 19, Matheson 18, Bryant 11 and Anderson 2. Galliah led St. Thomas with 15, Flood added 11, Paul 10, Traboulsee 5, Bourque 2, Trempe 2 and Desmond 2, while Govia, Glencross and Preston were scoreless.
In the semis, the defending champ Fredericton Black Kats dumped the Edmundston Cormier Cougars 60-38 as Manzer scored 18, Gorman 18, Vaughan 10, Wightman 5, Ward 4, Bamford 2 and Hachey 1. LeBlanc led the Cougars with 15. Therrieault added 8, Emond 8, MacFarlane 4, Violette 2 and Rossignol 2.
In the other semi, the Saint John Greyhounds clubbed the Moncton Purple Knights 57-37 as Stackhouse scored 12, Porter 12, Dixon 12, Ross 7, Katruk 6, Shaw 3, Currie 2, Wood 2 and Rockwell 1. Matheson paced the Purple Knights with 20. Cadman added 6, Anderson 4, Crossman 2, V Bryant 2, Powers 2 and L Bryant 1.
In the final, the Fredericton Black Kats dumped the Saint John Greyhounds 40-37. The Greyhounds led 22-17 at the half and 32-24 after three quarters but the Black Kats rallied in the fourth and took a 38-37 lead on a bucket by Wightman. George and Wightman added insurance free throws. Manzer paced the Black Kats with 14. Gorman added 12, Campbell 5, George 5 and Wightman 4. Dixon led the Greyhounds with 10. Stackhouse added 9, Porter 9 Shaw 4, Katruk 3 and Ross 2.
