In the opening round of a nine-team draw held in Fredericton, the Saint John Vocational Vultures dispatched Chatham St. Thomas Academy 39-31 as Melvin scored 16, Estabrooks 14, Rushton 6 and Coles 3. Terrence Jardine added 10, Arthur Lefebre 5, George Redmond 2 and Williams Thompson 2, while Edgar O’Brien, Thomas Galvin, Edward Berry, Guy Belanger and Edwin Foster were scoreless.

       In the quarterfinals, the Moncton Purple Knights torched the Saint John Vocational Vultures 42-10 as Wolfe scored 7, Smythe 7, McMichael 6, McKendrick 6, Crosman 4, Goss 4 and Grand 2. Arthur Melvin led Vocational with 5. Norman Estabrooks added 2, Donald Rushton 2 and Ian Coles 1, while Robert Main, Vaughan Morris, John Smith, George Stinson and Fred Ganong were scoreless.

       The Rothesay Red Hawks clocked Mount Allison Academy 62-42 as Gorham scored 18 and Flemming 17. Claude McLaughlin scored 11 to pace Mount Allison (coach Earl macInnis, manager Gordon Alcoe). Fernando Llobet added 10, Donald Parker 8, David Bates 8, Charles Stewart 4 and Richard King 1, while George A Bell, Vander Gray, George Irving, Canso and R Irving were scoreless.

       The Fredericton Black Kats crushed the Campbellton Tigers 32-15 as Stairs scored 13, Staples 9, McCarthy 5, Glass 2 and Patterson 1. Harold Murray scored 7 to lead the Tigers (coach Lloyd Jamieson). John Allingham added 3, Winston Dobson 2, James Keays 2 and Robert MacLaggan 1, while Keillor Coleman, James McKnight, Patrick Mahoney, Horace Nelson and John MacDonald were scoreless.

       In the last quarterfinal, the Saint John Greyhounds edged the Woodstock Thunder 28-25 as Smith scored 9, Harrison 7, McCutcheon 6, Ellis 2, Stackhouse 2 and Carson 2. Ross Hood paced the Thunder with 9. Claude Bowlin added 8, Philip Wakem 4, R Kitchen 2 and Byron Troy 2, while Willard Kitchen, David Brewer, Gerald DeLong, Kenneth Atkinson, Elwyn Everett and Wendell Jones were scoreless.

       In the semis, the Moncton Purple Knights clubbed the Saint John Greyhounds 38-23 as MacDougall scored 14, Wolfe 10, McMichael 8, Grant 2, Crosman 2, Smyth 1 and Goss 1. McCutcheon paced the Greyhounds with 7. Smith added 4, Harrison 3, Stackhouse 2, Gorman 2, Pappas 2, McIntosh 2 and Carson 1.

       In the other semi, the Rothesay Red Hawks dusted the Fredericton Black Kats 44-19 as Flemming scored 17, Gorham 12, Doig 9, Noble 5 and Findlay 1. Glass led the Black Kats with 7. Staples added 5, Patterson 2, Prime 2, Stairs 2 and McCarthy 1.

In the final, Gerard ‘Moose’ Flemming scored 12 as the Rothesay Regional Red Hawks defeated the Moncton Purple Knights 31-22. Gorham added 10, Findlay 6, Thompson 2 and Doig 1. Wolfe led Moncton with 11. MacMichael added 6 and Crossman 5.
