It’s so amazing.” Grand Manan broke to 14-0 lead. “All we needed to do was pressure them. When we played them down home, we did that and we beat them there,” said Russell. “As soon as we beat them down home, we knew that’s what we had to do.” Hartland finished the first half strong, shrinking a 33-16 lead to 35-24 at the break. They started the second half the same way, opening with a 6-0 run, but then the Breakers took control. Trecartin had the only triples of the game, but was 2-for-13 overall, as Hartland shot just 23 per cent from the floor and 15 per cent in the second half. Grand Manan shot 36 per cent, led by Russell’s 10-for-21 effort. The Breakers started to get the bounces during a 18-0 run during an eight-minute stretch in the second half. Mallory Guptill jumper off the glass made it 54-37 with eight minutes to go and a Russell finger roll and jumper soon stretched the lead to 23. Guptill added a bucket to make it 62-37 before DeWare finally ended the run with four minutes left.
