The 4th-seeded Canterbury Celtics defeated the 5th-seeded Fredericton Ecole Ste. Anne Castors 42-36 as Grant scored 10, Horseman 9, Collier 8, Taylor 8, Crandlemire 2, Dow 2, Davidson 2 and Bedard 1. In the last quarterfinal, the 3rd-seeded Lawrenceville-Bristol Carleton North ‘A’ Stars dispatched the 6th-seeded Woodstock ‘A’ Wildcats 60-47 as Hawksley scored 20, K Dickinson 18, Carmichael 6, Hunter 4, Harvey 3, Greer 3, Oakes 2, French 2 and C Dickinson 2. Hawksley led the Stars with 14. Carmichael added 13, K Dickinson 11, Greer 5, C Dickinson 4, Hunter 3, Harvey 2 and Oakes 2.
In the other semi, the top-seeded Petitcodiac Regional Panthers nipped the 4th-seeded Canterbury Celtics 52-51 as Hoar scored 17, Harvey 9, Sprague 8, Taylor 4, Martin 2 and Randall 2. Horseman led the Celtics with 17. Grant added 15, Crandlemire 12, Taylor 5 and Bedard 2.
In the final, the Harvey Lakers defeated the Petiticodiac Regional Pantherines 44-39 as player of the game Kathy Stairs scored 10, defensive player of the game McMinn 8, Little 8, Karen Stairs 6, McDade 6, Boone 2, Thompson 2 and Wiggans 2. Kathy Stairs took command in the second half, driving for three layups and hitting two free throws in the first three minutes. Stairs told the Saint John Telegraph-Journal that “I was kind of upset that I didn’t get to play as much as I’m used to playing in the first half. Then I came out and tries my hardest and did as well as I could.” Lakers coach John Kirk told the Fredericton Daily Gleaner that “if Kathy flies – if Kathy gets up and down the floor – we’re going to play very well. On her way to the basket, there’s not too many people that are going to stop her.” Hoar the Pantherines with 10. Sprague added 10, Harvey 7, Chambers 6 and Randall 6.
