In the final, the Campobello Island Consolidated Vikings defeated the Harvey Lakers 88-82. “We have the best fans anyone could dream of,” guard Dustin Barker, who scored 20 of his 25 points in the second half, told the New Brunswick Telegraph-Journal. “When you are out there and they are cheering like that, they get you going.” Campobello won with a dominating performance down the stretch. The Vikings clawed back from a 41-35 halftime deficit to take control 70-58 with nine minutes remaining. But Harvey wouldn’t fade away and despite four fouls on star senior Barret Williams, only trailed 81-79 with 1:30 left on the clock. Campobello cranked up its defence to pull out the win. “It seemed like when we put on some half court pressure, it slowed them down and it helped create some turnovers,” said Barker. Chad Brown added 21, Nick Fletcher 16 and Jeremy Hooper 11 for the Vikings. Dayna Craig canned 29 and Williams 28 for the Lakers.
