In the final, the Petitcodiac Regional Panthers defeated the Hillsborough Caledonia Regional Tigers 78-73 as player of the game Pollock scored 21, Chambers 21, McCordic 18 and Price 12. The Panther shit 9-20 from the line. Pollock told the Fredericton Daily Gleaner that “my last two years I started and never won a championship. And it’s really hard when you come from a school that’s rich in basketball tradition and you don’t win it all. To win it in my senior year, it’s just a big, big thrill. I don’t think it was much of an upset. Everyone pretty much counted us out but we really put things together after Arnie (McCordic) came back from his thumb injury.” Panthers coach Doug Cochrane said “they slowed the game down and their game plan worked. Their kids weren’t intimidated one bit. Again, it boils down the experience of the coaches and the way their kids responded.” Pugh led the Tigers with 19. Elliott added 17. The Tigers hit 14-23 from the line.
