The 4th-seeded Grand Falls John Caldwell Golden Knights clipped the 5th-seeded Nackawic Nighthawks 99-83.
The 2nd-seeded Petitcodiac Regional Panthers clocked the 7th-seeded Minto Tigers 91-71.
In the last quarterfinal, the 3rd-seeded Harvey Lakers dispatched the 6th-seeded Lawrenceville-Bristol Carleton North ‘A’ Stars 70-57 as Embleton scored 16. Bobby Hunter led the Stars with 19. The Stars also included Andrew Sullivan.
In the semis (by seeding these matchups should be reversed), the 2nd-seeded Petitcodiac Regional Panthers defeated the 4th-seeded Grand Falls John Caldwell Golden Knights x-x.
In the other semi, the top-seeded Grand Manan Breakers defeated the 3rd-seeded Harvey Lakers x-x.
In the final, the Petitcodiac Regional Panthers defeated the Grand Manan Breakers 54-52 on a pair of free throws by Harper with 25 seconds to play. Player of the game Harper paced the Panthers with 22. Bannister added 13. Harper told the Fredericton Daily Gleaner that “there was a lot of pressure. I just tried to concentrate and block the crowd out.” Panthers coach Ron Hooper said “I just told him to stay calm and go through his routine. … We’re just fortunate to be here, I think. We had lost eight players, four of them starters and I think the kids really overachieved this year.” Bass led the Breakers with 19. Urquhart added 13. The Breakers led 27-21 at the half.
