In the quarterfinal, the Perth-Andover Southern Victoria Vikings crushed the Salisbury JMA Armstrong Cougars 82-47. The Cougars included Jordan Caissie, Cassidy Hooper, Kaysha Davenport.
The Rothesay Red Hawks clubbed the Rexton Bonar Law Memorial Bengals 105-27.
The Rothesay Netherwood Riverhawks spanked the Dalhousie Regional Condors 89-40 as Olamide Ojuawo scored 19 and Anna Simonds 17. Breanna Williams led the Condors with 13. Courtney Carter added 12. The Condors also included Kristyn Smith.
In the last quarterfinal, the Sackville Tantramar Regional Titans defeated the Bristol Carleton North Stars 67-52 as Jenna Field scored 26 and Katie Cadman 16. The North Stars included Julia McCain, Kate Ritchie, Alice McCain.
In the semis, the Rothesay Red Hawks stomped the Perth-Andover Southern Victoria Vikings 82-54 as Marissa Duguay scored 22, Chelsey Collette 20 and Carissa McTague 14. Leah Robinson led the Vikings with 31. Collette told the New Brunswick Telegraph-Journal that “we just really wanted it. We didn’t want it to be our last game today. So we left it all on the line and played like we did.” Red Hawks coach Moira Gagnon noted that “we only have nine players. They put in so much time and so many hours before games shooting and going over drills. They’ve been really committed to this. It’s just a great group so I’m really thrilled for them.”
In the other semi, the Rothesay Netherwood Riverhawks nipped the Sackville Tantramar Regional Titans 93-91 as Olamide Ojuawo scored 24, Anna Simonds 23, Taylor Cooper 19 and Margot Grant 13. The Riverhawks led 50-45 at the half. Katie Cadman led the Riverhawks with 33. Emma Sigsworth added 25.
In the final, the Rothesay Red Hawks dusted the Rothesay Netherwood Riverhawks 79-57 after leading 20-11, 45-27 and 59-40 at the quarters. The Riverhawks kept pace with the Red Hawks until the midpoint of the second quarter when the Red Hawks switched gears. With the Red Hawks up 23-15, Chelsey Collette took over, scoring one of her four treys in the quarter, followed by another Emilie Chiasson trey to give the Red Hawks a 31-19 lead. Game MVP Collette told the New Brunswick Telegraph-Journal that “I’m just really emotional. I think we played so well. I’m thrilled for the girls. We wanted this so bad and we got it.” The Red Hawks led 45-27 at the half. But Riverhawks Anna Simonds hit back-to-back buckets to narrow the gap to 48-33 before Marissa Duguay countered with a three-point play to give the Red Hawks a 51-33 lead late in the quarter. The Riverhawks started the final quarter on 9-2 run, capped by an Olamide Ojuawo jumper to make it 61-47 at the midpoint of the quarter. But the Red Hawks responded with back-to-back baskets to make it 65-47. Another Collette three made it 68-49 at the five-minute mark. Ojuawo was named player of the game for Netherwood. Red Hawks coach Moira Gagnon said “sometimes in these pressure situations you stray away from the game plan, the girls didn’t. They worked so hard for this. They deserve it.” Chelsey Collette paced the Red Hawks with 26 on 9-27 from the floor, 6-9 from the arc, 2-2 from the line, 6 boards and 6 assists. Marissa Duguay added 12 on 4-7 from the floor, 4-4 from the line, 8 boards and 3 assists. Emilie Chiasson notched 11 on 3-9 from the floor, 2-3 from the arc, 3-4 from the line, 6 boards and 2 assists. Carissa McTague scored 11 on 4-13 from the floor, 1-3 from the arc, 2-2 from the line, 15 boards and 6 assists. Allyson McLaughlin notched 10 on 5-14 from the floor and 10 boards. Melanie Bishop scored 7 on 3-10 from the floor, 1-3 from the line, 2 boards and 2 assists. Kelly Marcolin added 2, along with 2 assists, while Adrienne Laidlaw and Alex Schaerer were scoreless. The Red Hawks hit 29-89 (.325) from the floor, 9-15 (.600) from the arc and 12-15 (.800) from the line, while garnering 71 boards, including 23 on the offensive glass, 23 turnovers, 14 steals and 25 fouls. Olaminde Ojuawo paced the Riverhawks with 20 on 8-21 from the floor, 4-8 from the line, 12 boards and 2 assists. Anna Simonds notched 17 on 7-22 from the floor, 3-8 from the line, 6 boards and 2 assists. Gillian Grant added 6 on 2-9 from the floor, 2-12 from the line and 11 boards. Margot Grant added 5, along with 2 boards, Taylor Cooper 5, along with 3 boards and 7 assists, and Ellen Mallard 4, while Simone Green, Loren Cooper, Olivia Murphy, Kathrine Card and Haley Brittain were scoreless. The Riverhawks hit 23-72 (.319) from the floor, 0-2 from the arc, 11-37 (.297) from the line, while garnering 52 boards, including 13 on the offensive glass, 27 turnovers, 8 steals and 16 fouls.
