In the quarterfinals, the Woodstock Wildcats defeated Miramichi James M. Hill Tommies 65-49. The Tommies included Sara Boyle.
The Bristol Carleton North Stars thrashed the Salisbury JMA Armstrong Cougars 84-37.
The Saint John Rothesay Regional Red Hawks defeated the Petitcodiac Regional Panthers 65-53. The Panthers included Shalon Saunders, Laura Vickers, Ashley Donaher.
In the last quarterfinal, the Sackville Tantramar Regional Titans whipped the St. Stephen Spartans 95-65. The Spartans included Jessica Babcock.
In the semis, the Bristol Carleton North Stars nipped the Woodstock Wildcats 57-54 as Laura Taylor and Alex Brennan each scored 16. Megan Denny led the Wildcats with 15.
In the other semi, the Sackville Tantramar Regional Titans defeated Saint John Rothesay Regional Red Hawks 89-70 as Erin Bohan scored 27, Jenna Kaye 20, C.J. Pauley 12, Leah Ward 11 and Sarah Trenholm 11. Ashley Bonner led the Red Hawks with 18. Tantramar led 63-38 at halftime.
In the final, the Bristol Carleton North Stars dumped the Sackville Tantramar Regional Titans 80-67 to capture the school’s second three peat. “The first two times were good but this is even better because it is our graduating year and we are really proud of our team, ourselves and our coach,” Alex Brennan told the New Brunswick Telegraph-Journal. After a slow start by both teams, the Stars pulled in to a 20-13 edge on Laura Taylor’s bucket with 7:13 remaining. The Titans rallied and took a 26-25 edge on Jenna Kaye’s basket but the Stars closed out the half with a 12-7 run. Tantramar rallied to within 53-50 on consecutive buckets by Kaye with 11:11 remaining, the Stars responded with 7-0 run and 13-4 runs to seize control. “We wanted to come out here ready to play and show we are the best team in AA and that we have been for the past three years,” said Sara Smith. “We are the team to beat and we still are.” Krystle Lockard led the Stars with 21 on 8 boards and 10-18 from the floor. Alex Brennan added 14, along with 16 boards. Pam Cavell added 10 and Sara Smith 10. Jenna Kaye led the Titans with 22 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. Erin Bohan added 17. Carleton North out-rebounded Tantramar 52-41. “We came out strong after halftime but their inside game was strong today,” said Kaye.
