In the quarterfinals, held in Boiestown, the host Upper Miramichi Boas nipped the McAdam Warriors 30-28 on a bucket by Carolyn Merrill in the final seconds. Merrill led the Boas with 16. Harris 8, McManus 4 and Paula Stewart 2. Carole Ann Carvell paced the Warriors with 14. Karen Thorburn added 8 and Elaine McDougall 5, while Craig, Harris, Short, Fullerton, Hanson, Bean, E Carvell and Logan were scoreless.

       The Rothesay Regional Red Hawks edged Fredericton Junction Sunbury-West 35-32 as Andres scored 16, M Robinson 9, McCarthy 7, J Robinson 2 and Fillmore 1. Barb Hartt paced Fredericton Junction with 16. Bev Scott added 9 and Ann MacDonald 7, while Tracey, Hodgson, Dewitt, Nason, Allen, McCracken, Cogswell, Peterson and O’Leary were scoreless.

       The Dalhousie Cougars defeated the Bath Community Fighting Bees 24-23 as Duncan scored 17, Allain 4 and Spence (Spender?) 3. Sybl Wry led the Fighting Bees with 17. Tompkins added 4 and Doris Cronin 2, while Millie, Crain, Cullen, Corcoran, Kilfoil, Nugent and McGann were scoreless.

       In the last quarterfinal, the Plaster Rock Tobique Valley Panthers defeated Black’s Harbour 48-40. But Black’s Harbour advanced to semis, so this reported box score must be wrong. Janet Wright led Panthers with 20. S Wright added 13, Beatrice Tilley 11 and Cheryl Robertson 4, while Bradford, C Reid, A Reid, Greye, Brown, Neilson and Campbell were scoreless. Noddin led Black’s Harbour with 22. Justason added 10, Holland 5 and McLean 3.

       In the semis, the Boiestown Upper Miramichi Regional Boas torched the Rothesay Regional Red Hawks 54-13 as Merrill scored 29, Harris 17, McManus 4 and Stewart 2. J (L?) Robinson led the Red Hawks with 9. Andrew added 2, McCarthey 1 and M Robinson 1.

       In the other semi, the Dalhousie Condors clipped Black’s Harbour 29-18 as Peterson scored 17, Duncan 5, Blanchard 3, Allain 1, Freeze 1 and Harris 1. Holland led Black’s Harbour with 10. Noddin added 2 and O’Neil 2, while four points were unallocated.

       In the bronze medal match, Black’s Harbour edged the Rothesay Regional Red Hawks 26-23 as Noddin scored 21, O’Neil 3 and Holland 2. Barb Andrews led the Red Hawks with 16. Marlene Robinson added 9 and Francine McCarthy 5, while Merle Fillmore, Sandra Graham, Nancy Kirkpatrick, Marilyn Mullett, Barbara Nesbitt, Joan Robinson, Barbara Saunders, Shedd and Joan Vincent were scoreless. The Red Hawks also included Peggy Gates.

In the final, the Boiestown Upper Miramichi Regional Boas defeated the Dalhousie Condors 43-27 as Merrill scored 21, Harris 21 and M Stewart 1. Peterson led the Condors with 13. Duncan added 10, Spence 2, Blanchard 1 and Harris 1.
