BOYS DIVISIONS
GIRLS DIVISIONS
The New Brunswick Interscholastic Athletic Association was created in 1958?
In 1952, the old A, B & C tournaments are abolished and replaced with three new classifications. R for regional and L and M for Large and Medium schools. Schools could elect up.
After 1955 season, the province was divided into eight zones and the schools reclassified into either M or L depending on enrolment. The regional class of schools was eliminated.
In 1974, a reclassification is conducted: AAA schools are those with an enrolment over 1000. AA schools are those with an enrolment between 400-999. A schools have an enrolment below 400.
After the 2008 campaign, an N.B.I.A.A. motion was passed “by a slim majority” that schools with enrolment of 500 and above would compete in AAA while those with enrolment under 500 would compete in the AA class.
As of 2019, there 19 AAA schools in the province, 19 AA schools and 37 A schools.
