In the final, the 3rd-seeded Ottawa Top Flight Academy dispatched the 4th-seeded Mississauga GTA Prep 83-78 as Finals MVP and 6-2 point guard Aiden Warnholtz dominated the floor, scoring 21 on 4 treys and 7 boards. Jevon Westcarth added 15, along with 12 boards, Alston Harris 15, along with 2 boards, Jevon Westcarth 15, along with 12 boards, David Muila 10, along with 2 assists and 12 boards, Atik Gilao 8, along with 4 boards, Muon Reath 5, along with 2 assists and 5 boards, Luol Akot 4, along with 2 assists and 3 boards, and Enoch Kalambay 3, along with 2 boards. A.J. Lawson led GTA Prep with 20 points, 8 assists and 7 boards. Top Flight broke to a 14-10 lead as Warnholtz and Alston Harris consistently attacked off the dribble. But GTA Prep’s Tristan Lindo went on a 6-0 run on back-to-back and-ones and rallied his squad to a lead late in the second quarter. The 6-3 guard then drove past Atik Gilao for a layup. A.J. Lawson added a trey. Lindo a trey and suddenly GTA led by 6. But Warnholtz and Harris rallied Top Flight to a 39-39 draw at the half. Lawson and Top Flight’s Muon Reath traded treys to open the second half. Warnholtz took command in the third, leading Top Flight to a 65-61 after three quarters and only stellar defence and boardwork by 6-10 post Kaosi Ezeagu kept GTA within reach of Ottawa. But Jevon Westcarth drilled a trey to give Top Flight an 11-point led 4:30 to play and then nailed another from beyond the arc to make the scored 79-69 with 2 minutes to play. Joshua Haughton hit a trey with 30 seconds to play to draw GTA with 7 and then Lawson added a pair of free throws to make it 79-74 with 18 seconds to play. Westcarth and David Muila hit free throws to ice for Top Flight in the final minute.

After the season, Toronto Central Tech and St. John’s-Kilmarnock withdraw from the NPA, saying the financial cost was no longer sustainable.

The league announces that Calgary Edge School (a private school) would join the NPA in 2018-19.
