In the interzone playoffs, the zone 8 champ Swan River Swan Valley Tigers dusted the zone 9 champ Virden Golden Bears 88-54.
In the quarterfinals, held in Portage, the 2nd-seeded Swan River Swan Valley Tigers defeated the 7th-seeded Winnipeg West Kildonan Wolverines 81-58.
The 3rd-seeded Winkler Garden Valley Zodiacs defeated the 6th-seeded Thompson R.D. Parker Trojans 88-69.
The top-seeded Winnipeg St. John’s Ravenscourt Eagles defeated the 8th-seeded Winnipeg Windsor Park Royals 67-49.
In the last quarterfinal, the 5th-seeded Portage Trotters defeated the 4th-seeded St. Norbert Celtics 83-38.
In the semis, the 5th-seeded host Portage Trotters stunned the top-seeded Winnipeg St. John’s Ravenscourt Eagles 82-75.
In the other semi, the 2nd-seeded Swan River Swan Valley Tigers defeated the 3rd-seeded Winkler Garden Valley Zodiacs 74-69.
In the bronze medal match, the 3rd-seeded Winkler Garden Valley Zodiacs dispatched the top-seeded Winnipeg St. John’s Ravenscourt Eagles 78-72. The Eagles (coached by G Davis and Ray Grynol?) included Joshua Manusow, Ben Dove, Mason Hecky, Tyson Jones, David Boyd, Tom Ripley, Jamey Ade, Alex To, Justin Fong, Nevin de Korompay and Ian Hornung.
In the final, the 2nd-seeded Swan River Swan Valley Tigers whipped the 5th-seeded Portage Trotters 102-72 to win their second consecutive provincial title. Tigers coach Duane Whyte told the Swan River Star and Times that “we had a great team, coach and player depth. The guys never let up.” (Assistant coach) Ken Khadekin did a great job on our team chemistry. There is no I in our team. It’s a team sport and we did well.”
