In the final, the 2nd-seeded Glenboro Panthers dusted the top-seeded Sprague Ross L. Gray Raiders 62-45 to capture their second consecutive provincial title. “A lot of these guys were on the championship team last year, and there was no panic,” Panthers coach Ryan Diehl told Portage Online. “We talked all year about sticking together, and we can get scoring from so many different guys. Matt Malyon, I thought stepped up in the fourth quarter. He’s a guy who isn’t one of our main scorers, and he got 6 or 8 straight points when I felt like it was slipping away.” Raiders coach Rob Stradeski said “we just couldn’t get that score close enough to get the adrenaline going again. Every time we got close, they had an answer. 45’s the lowest we’ve scored this year by 40 points, so they (Glenboro) played great.”
