In the wildcard game, the St. Laurent Hawks edged the Pinawa Panthers 49-45.
In the provincial quarterfinals, held in Morden, the Glenboro Panthers dumped the Rossburn Raiders 95-39 as Shaun Dowd scored 24. Jordan Cooke paced the Raiders with 12. The Raiders (coached by Kalvin Kreshewski) also included Jordan Kiez, Ray Ketelson, James Bone, Roy Brown, Jeremy Bereza, Jordan Cooke, Tyler Boryskavich, Andrew Brown, Andrew Sanders and Roy Brandon.
The Koostatak (Fisher River) Charles Sinclair Hawks whipped the Wawanesa Warriors 88-32 as Cody Sinclair scored 24. Chris Obach paced the Warriors with 12. The Warriors also included Brock Fisher.
The St. Laurent Hawks pounded the Gilbert Plains Trojans 72-52 as Trevor Chartrand scored 21. Ryan Zadorozny paced the Trojans with 19. The Trojans (coached by Trevor Beals) also included Tim Senko, Jason Robak, Keith Genik.
The top-seeded Sprague Ross L. Gray Raiders clobbered the Wabowden Mel Johnson Eagles 98-33 as Stephane Cabana scored 21. Derek Tozer paced the Eagles with 20.
In the semis, the Koostatak Charles Sinclair Hawks nipped the Glenboro Panthers 52-50 as Justin Sinclair-Paul scored 20 and Adam Murdock 11. The Hawks trailed by 13 in the second half. “We took the lead and were up by six in the second half. With three minutes left in the game, they tied it up,” said Hawks coach assistant coach Anthony Mason told the Stonewall Argus & Times. But a Hawk was fouled with 12 seconds to play. “Out of the ensuing three free throws, he made two and we won the game! Saved the overtime.” Cam Richmond paced the Panthers with 15. Dusty Hill added 12.
In the other semi, the top-seeded Sprague Ross L. Gray Raiders defeated the St. Laurent Hawks 66-51 as Kevin Flett scored 18, Stephane Cabana 15 and Elias JVD 15. Trevor Chartrand paced the Hawks with 25. Aaron Bruce added 12. The Raiders trailed by 15 with six minutes to play when Kevin Flett took command, scoring a series of buckets as Gray
In the bronze medal match, the St. Laurent Hawks defeated the Glenboro Panthers 59-53 as Aaron Bruce scored 36 and Trevor Chartrand 11. Shawn Doud paced the Panthers with 28. Dusty Hill added 8. The Panthers (coached by Ryan Diehl) also included John Swanepoel.
In the final, the 2nd-seeded Koostatak (Fisher River) Charles Sinclair Hawks defeated the top-seeded Sprague Ross L. Gray Raiders 79-68 as Adam Murdock scored 31 and Cody Sinclair-Paul 18. Kevin Flatt paced the Raiders with 31. Kyle Prevost added 20. “The biggest thing is we came out on top with seven players and two spares, one of who was sick,” said Sinclair assistant coach Anthony Mason. “The biggest factor was we were playing against the fans as well. There isn’t anything we can’t do with this small bunch. Good thing the team plays like warriors.”
