In the final, the 3rd-seeded Winnipeg Vincent Massey Trojans stunned the top-seeded and previously undefeated Winnipeg Sisler Spartans 70-53 after leading 21-12, 35-23 and 49-31 at the quarters. “It’s unbelievable,” guard Atoosa Jalayeri told the Winnipeg Free Press. “I remember last year, watching the Final Four. We didn’t quite make it, actually lost to Sisler. I looked down from the stands and it was a dream. Now, it’s a dream come true.” The Trojans took an early lead as the Spartans struggled to handle Keylyn Filewich. “It was really important to get the nerves out, calm ourselves down and really get into the game,” said Filewich. “Our defence was spot-on today. We were talking, our communication was great.
