In the last quarterfinal, the 2nd-seeded Winnipeg Fort Richmond Centurions defeated the 10th-seeded Winnipeg Westwood Warriors 85-45.
In the semis, the top-seeded Winnipeg Glenlawn Lions stomped the 4th-seeded Winnipeg Oak Park Raiders 63-45 as player of the game Erin McNulty scored 14. Caity Gooch led the Lions with 20. Allie Butz notched 11 and Georgia Harvey 10. Amy Ogidan was chosen player of the game for the Raiders after scoring 19. “I’m really proud of them to come from where they did at the start of the season,” Raiders coach Murray Brown told the Winnipeg Free Press. “We just didn’t deliver on some key parts of the game,” Ogidan said.
In the other semi, the 2nd-seeded Winnipeg Fort Richmond Centurions defeated the 3rd-seeded Winnipeg Vincent Massey Trojans 87-60 as Tessa Klassen scored 20, Kayla Klassen 16, Deondra Twerdun 12 and Jenn Foster 12. Christinee Sharrow was chosen player of the game for the Trojans after scoring 20.
In the final, the top-seeded Winnipeg Glenlawn Lions defeated the 2nd-seeded Winnipeg Fort Richmond Centurions 69-61 as Georgia Harvey scored 26, Allie Butz 19 and Caity Gooch 11. The Centurions led 38-24 at the half but the Lions ripped a 21-2 run to take command. “You always have to have faith in your team and believe in it,” Harvey told the Winnipeg Free Press. “I think we just got off to a slow start and we weren’t playing our strong game that we usually play. We just went into the change-room at halftime and said we have 20 minutes left in our year, it’s now or never, so let’s get going.” Tessa Klaasen paced the Centurions with 22. Twin sister Kayla added 12. “I don’t think they did anything differently, I just think we underestimated their ability to really want to win the basketball game,” Kayla Klassen said. “We just didn’t come out strong enough like we did in the first half. We let up for sure, right after the first minute of the second half. We weren’t playing our game like we had been.” Allie Butz was named player of the game for Lions.
