In the semis, the top-seeded Winnipeg Glenlawn Lions defeated the 4th-seeded Winnipeg Fort Richmond Centurions 68-52 as Yadili Okwumabua scored 17. Sarah Holder led the Centurions with 22.
In the other semi, the 3rd-seeded Winnipeg Vincent Massey Trojans defeated the 2nd-seeded Winnipeg Daniel McIntyre Maroons 68-66 as Wande Olude scored 27, grabbed 18 boards and blocked 13 shots. Elanor Topacio paced Daniel McIntyre with 24.
In the final, the top-seeded Winnipeg Glenlawn Lions pounded the 3rd-seeded Winnipeg Vincent Massey Trojans 62-32 to capture their third consecutive provincial crown. Tournament MVP Melanie Schlicter scored 18 and Yadili Okwumabua 17 despite playing with a stress fracture of her big toe. “I’m able to walk so that’s good,” said Okwumabua. “It wasn’t too bad. I guess because the adrenaline is going. I’ve learned in the last two and half months (since the injury) just to play with it and ignore it.” Yadili Okwuamabua, Schlicter and all-star Jay Pirnie dominated the boards at both ends of the floor. Glenlawn coach Bryan Kornberger said “it makes me feel like the right person in the right place at the right time.” The Lions took command in the second quarter, scoring 13 unanswered points to take a 24-12 lead. Kristen Roy paced the Trojans with 10.
