        In the quarterfinals, the top-seeded Winnipeg Oak Park Raiders clipped the 8th-seeded Winnipeg Mennonite Brethren Hawks 60-48 as Heather Thompson scored 18.

        The 12th-seeded Winnipeg Dakota Lancers knocked off the 4th-seeded Winnipeg J.H. Bruns Broncos 66-52 as Chrissa Buccini scored 18. The Broncos included Diana Gray, Jonna Benito.

        The 6th-seeded Winnipeg Vincent Massey Trojans stunned the 3rd-seeded Winnipeg John Taylor Pipers 68-53 as Leslie Hamilton scored 23. The Pipers included Jenn Beckman, Andrea Tully, Sarah Yip.

        In the last quarterfinal, the 2nd-seeded Winnipeg St. Mary’s Academy Flames crushed the Winnipeg Fort Richmond Centurions 70-38 as Anna Drewniak scored 18 and Lindsay McLeod 11. The Centurions included Jessica Solar, Sabrina Shannon, Michelle Edwards. Anna Drewniak told the Winnipeg Free Press that “we play together, with each of us playing a role. We have confidence in each other and certainly were not over-confident against Fort Richmond. … Our defence is tenacious. Our offence flows off our defence.” Flames coach Debbie May said “we’re very athletic and it allows us to play a running game.” May added that Drewniak “cements the team together.”

        In the semis, the top-seeded Winnipeg Oak Park Raiders clipped the 12th-seeded Dakota Lancers 59-39.

        In the other semi, the 2nd-seeded Winnipeg St. Mary’s Academy Flames edged the 6th-seeded Winnipeg Vincent Massey Trojans 42-36. The Flames hit 10-18 from the line in the second half. “We had to bear down and start focusing to play our game. In the first half, we weren’t really playing our game. At the end, we got together, we really wanted to win this game and we made it happen,” said Flames forward Jessica McDonald, who broke a 34-34 tie with a free throw with 2:59 to play. Flames forward Anna Drewniak said “we play together, with each of us playing a role. We have confidence in each other and certainly were not over-confident against Fort Richmond.         In the final, the top-seeded Winnipeg Oak Park Raiders defeated the 2nd-seeded Winnipeg St. Mary’s Academy Flames 55-47 as tournament MVP and point guard Marsha Murdock scored 20. “All of our games against St. Mary’s were this physical and it was a tremendous effort by both teams, but it was our defence in the fourth quarter that made the difference,” Murdock, the Raiders’ point guard, told the Winnipeg Free Press. “We knew we had to play as tough as we could. It was our last chance and all we could think of is that we couldn’t look each other in the eye if we didn’t do everything we could out there.” The Flames led by nine at the half but dominated the boards in the second half and ripped off an 11-2 run in the first five minutes of the fourth quarter. “All year long, fourth quarter our team has responded. Whenever it was a tight game, that’s where our kids won it,” said Raiders’ coach Murray Brown. “We talked about being composed and being passionate about the game and if we did that, we’d be OK. They’re a gritty team and I’m really proud of them.”
