        In the quarterfinals, the top-seeded Brandon Vincent Massey Vikings whipped the 8th-seeded Winnipeg John Taylor Pipers 59-35. The Vikings were outscored 5-0 by the Pipers through seven minutes but then tossed in eight straight points en route to a 24-11 lead after one half. Massey never looked back. “We were totally flat but I guess we finally wanted to start playing,” Vikes coach Karen Seekings told the Brandon Sun. “It wasn’t a great first half but we built enough of a lead and then took off after that.” Terena Caryk paced the Vikings with 16. Tina Moody added 12. Susie Laping led the Pipers with 13.

        The 4th-seeded Winnipeg Miles Macdonell Buckeyes nipped the 12th-seeded Winnipeg J.H. Bruns Broncos 64-63.

        The 3rd-seeded Winnipeg St. John’s Tigers dumped the 6th-seeded Winnipeg Glenlawn Lions 62-52. The Lions included Amy Anderson, Laura Gordon.

        In the last quarterfinal, the 7th-seeded Winnipeg River East Kodiaks edged the 2nd-seeded Winnipeg Oak Park Raiders 65-64. The Raiders (coached by Murray Brown) included Heather Newsham, Jackie Burgoyne, Kim Willoughby, Shannon Vermeulen.

        In the semis, the top-seeded Brandon Vincent Massey Vikings clipped the 4th-seeded Winnipeg Miles Macdonell Buckeyes 64-57 as Carmen Kurd scored 19 and Terena Charyk 15. The Vikings led 38-24 at the half. Jennifer Dowdall led the Buckeyes with 20. Erin Soroko added 14. “We played very well in the first half,” Vikings coach Karen Seekings told the Brandon Sun. “We really jumped on them. Miles Mac is really young team and I think our experience helped us a lot.” The Buckeyes trailed by 16 after three quarter but went on a 7-0 run to close the margin before Caryk and Lee again took command. “We do work very well together but every single person contributed and that’s why we won,” Caryk, who was chosen player of the game, told the Winnipeg Free Press.

        In the other semi, the 3rd-seeded Winnipeg St. John’s Tigers dispatched the 7th-seeded Winnipeg River East Kodiaks 57-50. The tigers led 38-35 at the half. “We played them earlier in the year and they beat us by two so we knew it would be a close game but we came out ready,” said Tigers’ player of the game Jackie Presley, who scored 19.

In the final, the 3rd-seeded Winnipeg St. John’s Tigers nipped the top-seeded Brandon Vincent Massey Vikings 49-46 as Jackie Presley scored 17. “It was disappointing for the girls,” Vikings coach Karen Seekings told the Brandon Sun. “They thought that, after last year, it would be their turn, but it wasn’t to be. They outshot us. We missed a lot of key shots and it made the difference. I told the girls before the game that, no matter what happens, we’ve had a great year. It’s quite an accomplishment to make it to the provincial final two years in a row.” The Vikings shot only 35% from the floor. Cammie Lee paced the Vikings with 14. Terena Caryk added 10. The Tigers led 22-18 at the half.
