The top-seeded Winnipeg John Taylor Pipers stomped the 8th-seeded Winnipeg Sisler Spartans 62-43. The Spartans (coached by Mike Babb) included Jennifer Richardson.

In the last quarterfinal, the 4th-seeded Winnipeg Glenlawn Lions dumped the 5th-seeded Winnipeg Oak Park Raiders 54-45.

        In the semis, the top-seeded Winnipeg John Taylor Pipers dumped the 4th-seeded Winnipeg Glenlawn Lions 49-41 as Lara Asplin scored 22. “Lara does everything well,” Pipers coach Carol Simpson told the Winnipeg Free Press “We’ve had some great ones here, including Sandra Carroll. However, I liken Lara to Sandra. She’s a team leader, too.”

        In the other semi, the 2nd-seeded Brandon Vincent Massey Vikings dispatched the 6th-seeded Winnipeg Garden City Gophers 45-33.

        In the final, the Winnipeg John Taylor Pipers crushed the 2nd-seeded Brandon Vincent Massey Vikings 57-37. “This is the greatest feeling you can hope to have as a coach,” Pipers fourth-year coach bench boss Carol Simpson told the Winnipeg Free Press. “I’m really happy for these kids because they came out here and gave it their all from the opening tip right down to the final buzzer.” Janna Taylor paced the Pipers with 19. Lara Asplin added 18. “This is just great,” said Asplin. “The entire team just came out and played so well and worked so hard that we knew we weren’t going to lose.” Kathy Spaulding led the Vikings with 16. The Pipers led 31-23 at the half.
