The Lancers led 20-2, 28-8 and 38-14 at the quarters. H Cheeseman paced the Tigers with 9. The Tigers also included Edith Heinz, Jean Brown, Cathy Smith, Lorraine Sutton, Jeanette Walker.
The Winnipeg John Taylor Pipers clipped the Hamiota Huskies 36-29 as Angie Johnson scored 11, Debbie Shiloff 11 and Karen Downie 8. Brenda Daniels paced the Huskies with 13. The Huskies (manager Vicki Robinson) also included Janis Stewart, Janice McGregor, Les Pedlow, Edythe Clark, Wenda Houck, Brenda Armstrong, Donna White, Del Hunsaker, Shelley Wales, Dorothy Hudson and Gerry Pedlow.
The Winnipeg Grant Park Pirates dumped the Winnipeg River East Kodiaks 23-16 as Sheila Corrin scored 10 and Barb Hall 5. Les Welechuk paced the Kodiaks with 6. The Kodiaks also included Colleen Fox.
In the last quarterfinal, the Winnipeg Springfield Sabres whipped the Altoona W.C. Miller Acettes 34-20 as Donna Taylor scored 17 and Shirley Taylor 9. Sherri Wiebe paced the Acettes with 14. The Acettes led 10-8 at the half. The Acettes (coached by Rhonda Harper) also included Jean Funk, Carolyn Loeppky, Fran Voth, Brenda Martel.
In the semis, the Winnipeg Dakota Lancers dumped the Winnipeg John Taylor Pipers 28-22 as Gerri Ramsay scored 12. Debbie Shiloff led the Pipers with 8. High-scoring Angie Johnson notched just 5.
In the other semi, the Winnipeg Springfield Sabres dusted the Winnipeg Grant Park Pirates 30-15 as Donna Taylor and Lorraine Strembecki each scored 9. Barb Hall led the Pirates with 7.
In the bronze medal match, the Winnipeg Grant Park Pirates edged the Winnipeg John Taylor Pipers 35-32 as Sheila Corrin scored 13 and Barb Hall 10. Angie Johnston led the Pipers with 22. The Pipers (coached by Paul Granovsky and George Taylor) also included Karen Downie, Debbie Shiloff, Linda Pfeifer, Jocelyn Shade, Vi Mitchell, Jackie McNeil, Heather Fraser, Denise Greenaway, Janet Taylor and Pat Abrahamson.
In the final, the Winnipeg Dakota Lancerettes defeated the Winnipeg Springfield Sabres 29-24. Linda Smith notched a bucket to break a 24-24 draw and then Gerry Ramsay hit a free throw and Diane Macey a pair of free throws to ice it. The Sabres led 7-6 after one quarter. The Lancers led 14-11 at the half. The score was knotted at 17 after three quarters. Maureen Andrew paced the Lancerettes with 10. Colleen McAmmond added 6, Diane Macey 5 and Gerrie Ramsay 5. Donna Taylor led the Sabres with 24. Lorraine Strembecki added 7.
