In the quarterfinals, the 6th-seeded Winnipeg Glenlawn Lionettes stunned the 3rd-seeded Winnipeg St. John’s Tigerettes 28-27 after leading 16-14 at the half. Joanne Schultz paced the Lionettes with 8. Sharon Przybilski added 7. Mary Stepaniuk led the Tigerettes with 8. Laurie Laveille added 5. The Tigerettes (coached by Mr. Primislow, assisted by Brian Gilmour and Andy Krenti) also included Pat Clements, Barb Martin, Hazel Holmes, Beth Taylor, Rose Abramowitch, Gwen Morris, Zoya Kowalewich, Diane Bolton, Orysia Kievesky, Mary-Jane Dehod and Dotty Simonis.

        The top-seeded Hamiota Huskies dusted the 8th-seeded Grandview Bobbets 27-7 after leading 11-1 at the half. Lynda Kidd paced the Huskies with 10. Maureen Bailey added 4 and Joyce Twirden 3. Linda Steiner led the Bobbets with 4. The Bobbets did not notch the first of their two field goals until late in the third quarter. The Bobbets (coached by Mr. Adamack) also included Diane Mitchell, Gwen Ross, Gloria Reese, Susan McKee, Jackie Delaney, Carol Found, Sandra Munroe.

        The 2nd-seeded Winnipeg Transcona Titans edged the 7th-seeded Portage la Prairie Pats 31-27 as Marcia Lamoureux scored 12 and Gerry Earl 11. Sally Gilroy led the Pats with 12. Judy Preston added 7. The Pats led 12-11 at the half. The Pats also included Roberta Little.

        In the last quarterfinal, the 5th-seeded Flin Flon Hapnot Kopper Kweens dusted the 4th-seeded Morris Mavericks 44-30 as Lenore Larson scored 12 and Marie Duncan 11. The Mavericks led 15-14 at the half. Lorraine Davies paced the Mavericks with 14. Anne Moore added 8. The Mavericks also included Rita Remple.

In the semis, the 6th-seeded Winnipeg Glenlawn Lionettes stomped the 2nd-seeded Winnipeg Transcona Titans 53-22 as Jo-Anne Schultz scored 18, Kay Wotton 10, Cathy Flower 6 and Fran Pfeffer 6. The Lionettes led 33-10 at the half. Marcia Lamoureux led the Titans with 8. Gerry Earl added 7 and Diana Dagg 5.

In the other semi, the top-seeded Hamiota Huskies defeated the 5th-seeded Flin Flon Hapnot Kopper Kweens 36-25 as Lynda Kidd scored 21 on 8-9 from the floor. Faye Pollock added 4. Lenore Larsen led the Kopper Kweens with 7. Sharon Mardis added 6 and Merle Duncan 6. The score was knotted at 14 at the half.

In the final, the 6th-seeded Winnipeg Glenlawn Lionettes stomped the top-seeded Hamiota Huskies 45-29 as Joanne Schultz scored 18, Kay Wotton 8, Nancy Pocock 6 and Kathy Flower 6. The Lionettes, particularly Wotton and Flower dominated the boards, especially in the fourth quarter. Hamiota was led by tournament MVP Lynda Kidd’s 15 points. Fay Pollock added 8 and Joyce Twerdon 6. The Huskies led 11-7 after one quarter but Nancy Pocock nailed a bucket in the second quarter to give the Lionettes the lead for good. Carol Ann Smith and Val Douglas both fouled out for the Huskies.
