In the quarterfinals, the Hamiota Huskies dumped the Flin Flon Hapnot Kopper Kweens 28-22 as Evelyn Mathison scored 14. The Huskies led 6-5 after one quarter. The score was knotted at 15 at the half. The Huskies led 26-21 after three quarters after Mathison took command. Mary Masson and Sharon Hopkinson both fouled out for the Kopper Kweens. The Kopper Kweens (coached by Gladwyn Scott) also included Barbara Davidson, Beryl Goldsmith, Sandra Devine, Evelyn Mathison, Kae Fraser, Eileen Douglas.

               The Portage la Prairie Pats clubbed the Altona W.C. Miller (then Altona Collegiate) Acettes 31-14 as Dorothy Prior scored 18. The Pats led 11-6 at the half. The Acettes (coached by Lloyd Siemens) included Esther Toews, Jolene L’Esperance, Shirley Braun, Corel Dick, Corc Toews, Muriel Funk, Judy Friesen, Elfreda Braun and Darlene Siemens.

        The Winnipeg Churchill Bulldogs whipped the Neepawa Tigers 31-15. The Tigers included Edna Whitmore.

        In the last quarterfinal, the Winnipeg Glenlawn Lions stomped the Rivers Brooke Rams 29-5. The Rams (coached by Ralph Trombley) included Shirley Hopkie, Shirley Malfait, Judy Johnson, Lyn Shier, Marilyn Seater, Carol Johnson, Mary Richardson, Diane Miller, Diana Struthers, Judy Shaw, Blanche Reynolds and Arlene Loewen.

In the semis, the Winnipeg Glenlawn Lions defeated the Hamiota Huskies 20-12 as Marcia Sykes scored 11. Kay Fraser led the Huskies with 4. It was just the second loss on the season for Hamiota.

        In the other semi, the Portage La Prairie Pats defeated the Winnipeg Churchill Bulldogs 23-22 as Dorothy Prior scored 10 and Judy Preston 6. Caroline Little led the Bulldogs with 11. Churchill’s Gerry Parkhurst and Carol Liddle missed free throws with two minutes to play, including a shot on a technical assessed to the Pats for taking too many time outs. Judy Preston then hit a pair of free throws for the Pats before Liddle closed out the scoring with a bucket.

        In the final, the Winnipeg Glenlawn Lions defeated the Portage La Prairie Trotters 20-12, a duplicate of their score in the semis. The Lions led 5-1, 6-4 and 11-10 at the quarters. Joan Donald paced Glenlawn with 9. Susan Helyer added 6, Marcia Sykes 4 and Judy Mortimer 1. Dorothy Prior led the Pats with 8. Portage coach Ralph Rowley was in his 20th year at the Pats helm.
