In the opening round of playoffs and Winnipeg semis, the Winnipeg Gordon Bell Panthers defeated the Glenlawn Lions 42-37 as Tom Scott and Ken MacRae each scored 13. The Lions (coached by Art Leach and managed by D Downie) included Doug McKenzie, Don Harding, Wayne Fraser, Bob Sexsmith, Bert Lamoureaux, Ron Sandstrom, Alex Morrison, Bruce Stouffer, Herbie Olafsson, Fred Steeves, Trevor Fraser and Ron Hogue.

        In the provincial quarterfinals and Winnipeg finals, the Gordon Bell Panthers dispatched the St. Paul’s Crusaders 39-36 as Tom Scott scored 13, Dave Scarth 10, Ken McRae 9, Zoli Dancs 2 and Glen Gresham 2, while Ben Moroz, Ed Buchko, Dave Williams, Bob Spratt, Bill Farquhar and Frank Pucci were scoreless. The Crusaders led 18-16 at the half. Hamilton paced the Crusaders with 9. Franke added 9, O’Neill 8, McDill 6 and Spottiswood 4, while Elhatton, Lyons, Madden and Mondry were scoreless.

        In the semis, the Winnipeg Gordon Bell Panthers defeated Brandon 41-18 as Dick Scarth scored 11, Ken MacRae 10, Tom Scott 7, Frank Pucci 6, Ron Saunders 3, Ed Buchko 2 and Ben Moroz 1, while Glen Gresham, Zoli Dancs, Bill Farquahar, Bob Spratt and Dave Williams were scoreless. Don Hunter led the Blues with 6. J Kaczmar added 6, K Hunter 5, Page 3 and Newman 1, while McKenzie, Johnny West, K Kavanagh, Warwick and Purvis were scoreless.

In the other semi, the Flin Flon Hapnot Kopper Kings clocked the Dauphin Clippers 63-15.

In the final, the Winnipeg Gordon Bell Panthers dumped the Flin Flon Hapnot Kopper Kings 47-36 after leading 10-8, 28-20 and 37-24 were scoreless. Zoli Dancs led the Panthers with 13. Dave Scarth added 11, Tom Scott 10, Ken McRae 7 and Gresham 6, while G Saunders, Farkuhar, Pucci, Spratt and Buchko were scoreless. Butch Randall paced the Kopper Kings with 7. Frank Schneider added 6, Robert Rodgers 6, Lalonde 6, Hudon 6 and Gary Last 5, while Rheaume and Barr were scoreless.
