The Winnipeg Sisler Spartans (then the Isaac Newton Norwesters) defeated the Winnipeg St. Paul’s Crusaders 22-17; 28-16 (2g-0).
In game one, Isaac Newton prevailed 22-17 after leading 12-8 at the half. Doc Blanchard led the Norwesters with 8. Jobin led the Crusaders with 9.
In game two, the Spartans easily handled the Crusaders 28-16.
There is no evidence of a playoff with intersuburban league champ East Kildonan or with any other team from any other part of the province. The Winnipeg Free Press subsequently and repeatedly refers to the Spartans as the “recognized” provincial champ.
