In the provincial finals, the Winnipeg Gordon Bell Panthers defeated the Winnipeg St. Paul’s Crusaders 29-15; 23-12 (2g-0).

        In game one, the Panthers prevailed 29-15.

        In game two, Bell won 23-12 as Roy Williams scored 6, Don McDougall 6, Carl Ridd 4, Art Foster 2, Bobby Brown 1, while Ken Snider, Dennis Gallagher, Jay Lucas and Crogdian were scoreless. Andy Devine led St. Paul’s with 8. Chipman added 4 and Bolin 1. Other Crusaders included Madden, Cook, Sigorsky, Kennedy and Bjornson. Carl Ridd’s subsequent accomplishments included playing for the Canadian Olympic team in 1952. He also led Winnipeg Paulins to the Canadian Senior Basketball Championship in 1954. Ridd later played for the Canadian national team in the World Basketball Championship in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He was named to the tournament’s second all-star team and was the first Canadian ever named to world all-star team. Ridd led the Winnipeg Senior Men’s League in scoring       on six occasions. He was subsequently named to both the Manitoba and Canadian Basketball Halls of Fame.
