In the provincial finals, the Winnipeg St. Paul’s Crusaders defeated the Winnipeg Kelvin Clippers 35-32; 29-26 (protested) 25-30; 25-20 (3g-1).
In game one, St. Paul’s prevailed 35-32 as Eddie Miller scored 12, Albert Commer 10, Art Charlebois 8, McKay 4 and Burke-Gaffney 1, while MacRae, Ed Gelley, Work, Byrne Westrum and Cecil Primeau were scoreless. Black led the Clippers with 10. Doug Unwin added 8, Glover 4, Lewis 4, Wood 3, Cable 2 and Robb 1, while Moore and Magee were scoreless.
In game two, the Crusaders edged the Clippers 29-26 as Eddie Miller scored 10, Al Commer 7, Primeau 6, Work 2, Hec MacRae 2, McKay 1 and Charlebois 1, while Westrum, Gelley and Frank Burke-Gaffney were scoreless. Bill Cable led the Clippers with 7. Jim Glover added 4, Fred Moore 4, Ken Black 4, Lewis 2, DuVal 1 and Doug Unwin 1, while Gordon Robb and Currie were scoreless.
The second game result is tossed after Kelvin successfully protested that a dismissal of Clipper Ken Black for changing his jersey number before the game and failing to notify the scorer’s table was unjustified. The game was ordered replayed.
