The Eagles (coached by Ms. Gillies, assisted by Mrs. Sawyer, manager Simon Cotton) included Janice LeMaistre, Deanna Wehrle, Lynette Potter, Hillary Samson, Tanis Weinstein, Heather Wehrle, Christine Barwinsky, Caral Albi, Karen Ethans, Shauna Ellergy, Mila Oh and Meghan Nieman.
The 3rd-seeded Swan River Swan Valley Tigers clubbed the 6th-seeded Flin Flon Kopper Kweens 57-26.
The 2nd-seeded Virden Golden Bears crushed the 7th-seeded Gimli Lakers 72-34. The Lakers (coached by Ken Kristofferson, assisted by Kara Rudney) included Jill Howryluk, Sheryl Panteluk, Leanne Minarik.
In the last quarterfinal, the 4th-seeded Sprague Ross L. Gray Raiders whipped the 5th-seeded Dauphin Clippers 60-40. Kendall Balchen paced the Clippers with 16. Dana Harvie added 14. Clippers post Chris Smelski sprained an ankle early in the game, while resulted in Dauphin being badly outrebounded. The Clippers (coached by Larry McDougall) also included Shauna Forman, Christine Smelski, Kim Wasylyshen, Monique Lefebvre, Dana Armstrong, Monique Lefebvre, Reva McDonald.
In the semis, the top-seeded Portage La Prairie Arthur Meighen Squires dispatched the 4th-seeded Sprague Ross L. Gray Raiders 70-52.
In the other semi, the 2nd-seeded Virden Golden Bears edged the 3rd-seeded Swan River Swan Valley Tigers 50-44.
In the bronze medal match, the 3rd-seeded Swan River Swan Valley Tigers defeated the 4th-seeded Sprague Ross L. Gray Raiders 45-38. The Raiders (coached by Mark Gadient and Don McWhirter, manager Tara Prasek) included Lori Stewart, Emilia Havorka, Kim Buzahora, Cheryl Brown, Leah Hebel, Monique Tardiff, Susan McLeod, Nancy Thiessen, Laura Krasniuk and Adriane Cote.
In the final, the top-seeded Portage La Prairie Arthur Meighen Squires defeated the 2nd-seeded Virden Golden Bears 58-48 as Rhonda Switzer scored 22. Tracy Klassen added 21. Kerri Simpson led the Golden Bears with 21. The Golden Bears were playing without star Kim Manser, who injured her knee in the semis. “I’m not saying we could have won with her,” Golden Bears coach Ken Buchy told the Brandon Sun. “But it would have been a different game.”
