The Clippers led 38-30 after three quarters. “We played one of our strongest games of the season,” said Clippers coach Larry McDougall.

        In the other semi, the Virden Golden Bears stomped the Portage La Prairie Arthur Meighen Saints 61-34.

        In the bronze medal match, the Sprague Ross L. Gray Raiders defeated the Portage la Prairie Arthur Meighen Saints 59-44. Penny Hovorka paced the Raiders with 19. Lori Stewart added 13.

        In the final, the Virden Golden Bears defeated the 4th-seeded Dauphin Clippers 63-44 as tournament MVP Pam Manser scored 30 and Barb Schlemmer 16. Audrey Baltus led Dauphin with 20. Elisa Granger added 14. “There is only one team better than us,” Clippers coach Larry McDougall told the Dauphin Herald, adding that his troops appeared mentally exhausted in the final and made uncharacteristic mistakes. “It was a good game and nothing to be discouraged about.”
